How you can help – Even a little bit goes a long
ways
Each week we here at Family Care Cambodia bring a group of orphans to
our home for a morning of activities, arts and crafts training, games,
singing and music classes, computer classes and story time as well as
a lot of personal attention and love. In order to continue with these
activities and expand it to include more training for such youngsters,
we need your help.
If you would like to be part in this special project, these are the needs
we have:
- I. Meals and drinks:
In order to provide the children with a healthy lunch and nourishing
snacks during their weekly visits, we need sponsorship for 100 meals
or 100 drinks - $100 per month
- II. Arts and crafts, stationary & other supplies:
To keep well stocked with materials we would need approximately $100
per month for such items as:
Cotton cloth of various colors & patterns, scissors, needles and
thread, crocheting string, crocheting needles, embroidery thread, colored
beads, color paper, cardstock, glue, paints, color pencils, art paper,
crayons and pastels, fruit carving knives etc.
- III. Classroom materials:
To expand our set up for the children's activities and craft projects
we would need the following items:
2 guitars for music classes – 300$
One more computer - $500
- IV. Health & Hygiene Project:
To help the children have a higher health & hygiene standard we
want to provide them with a ' toiletry kit' on a monthly basis. This
kit would include toothbrush, toothpaste, body soap, laundry soap, shampoo,
conditioner, deodorant, body powder etc. One kit is approximately $6,
which multiplied by 40 orphans comes to $240 per month.
- V. School Supplies:
Since the orphans only have a very limited supply of school materials
we want to help them have at least their basic needs met. Some of the
following items listed are needed on a monthly basis, some are not.
These are: pencils, pencil led, pens, note books, exercise books, set
of rulers, erasers, geometry set, glue, pencil case etc. Per orphan
this would come to $2.5, so altogether it would be approximately $100
per month.
