We traveled to Ubolratchani to deliver the scholarships to 200 children. Our team also presented a 2-hour anti-narcotics program for the youngsters, including motivational dance numbers, local traditional Thai songs, lively skits and games encouraging audience participation. We were presented with a plaque of appreciation at the end of the program.
Following are glimpses into one of the musical therapy programs we do, this one at Wat Sra Gaew orphanage, Angthong province, which houses 1,700 orphans. Our musicians performed a few numbers, followed by a lively clown show that brought smiles and laughter from the orphans.
We have supplied the orphan boys at Bahn Tung Mahamek with donated food, clothing and other needs for several years now. The boys remain at this home till they reach 18 years of age and then find work. To help them acquire better job qualifications, we have instructed them in a working knowledge of English language skills, and recently set up a computer room to teach them basic computer skills.
We made three trips to villages in Petchaboon province that were severely hit by recent flash floods and mudslides to deliver food and supplies, as well as minister hope and encouragement the needy villagers. We brought in more than four tons, including rice, bottled water, blankets, mats, mosquito netting, new/used clothing, fresh vegetables, instant noodles, canned food, baby food, milk, cookies and other food stuffs. Additionally, we participated in a program on Channel 11 to raise funds for flood victims.
