The people living in these villages are very poor, the majority being Gwari farmers. Others are settlers from different parts of the country seeking to gain employment in Abuja city. Most of these people live in deplorable conditions.

Through the support of EIS, not only children, but also their parents have deepened their awareness toward qualitative education. It is encouraging that many of the parents, especially mothers who tend to be uneducated and illiterate, seek to gain literacy. The schools we set up in the targeted communities are also providing adult literacy classes for both men and women.

Additionally, we have brought sewing machines in to teach tailoring.
