Project Managers: George and Pranee Dunbar,

Esahn Family Assistance operates in the North East of Thailand, having established long-term and on-going community services projects including:

  • Counseling and providing drug awareness to “street girls” who have been rescued from lives of forced prostitution.
  • Coordinating charitable efforts in the local community.
  • Participation in organizing events for local chapter of Special Olympics.
  • Teaching English to the underprivileged, and in needy provincial schools.
  • Providing food and other aid to underprivileged children who live in the main slum areas of the city, as well as upcountry.
  • Distributing educational literature and audio-visual tools, as well as providing advice to parents regarding the upbringing of their children.
  • Counseling boys at a juvenile delinquent center, preparing them for re-entry into society, including teaching them English and music skills.

Free English Language Classes

Esahn Family Assistance hosts free English Camps enabling poorer children a foreign-language-learning opportunity, which enhances their potential for the future. If they have a knowledge of the English language, it will expand their job possibilities.

Coordinating Charitable Efforts

We are sometimes approached by donors looking for a good investment for their charitable donation. For example, recently a ladies' group asked us to help them find a good cause. We recommended the construction of a simple cafeteria at an extremely poor school about 30 kilometers from here. Prior to this, the children had no place to eat their lunch, so they ended up just sitting around on the ground or any spot they could find on the school premises.

Leadership Training at Juvenile Delinquent Centers

Esahn Family Assistance conducts a Leadership Training course at different institutions for young people, where many of the patrons may be natural born leaders, but often have just never been pointed in the right direction with their talents.

Counseling Former Street Girls

Offering counsel and direction to former "street girls" who have escaped lives of forced prostitution.

Food and other Aid to the Disadvantaged

Food and other needs supplied to clients at poor schools and other institutions.

Our Work with the Special Olympics

Each year, Esahn Family Assistance contributes its services to the locally-organized Special Olympics events.

Disseminating Educational Tools

Donating educational equipment and tools to up-country and rural schools.
