Michael Medich had a vision to offer physical and eternal vision to indigent people in developing nations. In February of 1998 he went with a team to Bolivia, then followed that up with a trip to Paraguay, followed by another excursion to Brazil, Vietnam and then the Philippines.--in each country assisting with eye exams and dispensing of free eyeglasses.
Michael and his wife Memviluz (Memz) continue their good work in the Philippines.

Life in the Philippines –How do you describe a country made up of 7,107 islands, many with their own unique culture and language? Luzon, the largest island group, accounts for more than half of the entire population of 76.5 million people. Our work is mainly in the southern islands of the country, as well as rural Luzon.
The way we got involved in this ministry was by accompanying members of a Michigan church to Iloilo City in the Philippines. We held a full medical clinic, including medical, dental, pharmacy and optical. I helped dispense an estimated 400 pairs of glasses and I found the Filipino people very warm and friendly, very much in need and appreciative!
