Located on the outskirts of Phnom Penh, Sen Srok is home to hundreds of displaced families who were resettled from squatter tenements in the capital. Since 2005, we’ve channeled food, supplies and medical care to the poorest families, and run weekly activities for the children. In collaboration with the Department of Informal Education we helped establish the Sen Srok Community Learning Center (CLC) in 2009.

We’ve repaired, or completely rebuilt several houses for the poorest families, and organized free dental and medical check-ups with volunteer doctors, dentists and nurses.

With donated soap and shampoo, we’ve given hygiene instruction, and treated hundreds of children for head lice, skin rashes and open sores.

For several years, we operated out of a tin and thatch hut, sponsoring daily English lessons and weekly activities for the children and teens of the settlement. In 2009, a classroom at the Sen Srok Primary School was designated as the Community Learning Center. We helped to clean and set up the classroom, which is now used to provide free education and vocational training classes for the community. We are currently running a daily English class there.
