Family Care Goa

Project No: I19
Project Managers:
Joaquim and Tuula Baretto

Contact Info:

Family Care Goa ran a clinic for PLWAs (people living with HIV-AIDS) where medical check ups and basic medicines were supplied free-of-charge. Although the clinic is now closed, Family Care Goa continues to focus on organizing support groups for HIV patients. They have regular meetings with those afflicted with HIV-AIDS to help them develop a positive outlook on life and a healthy self-esteem. Family Care Goa also seeks to find employment and housing for PLWAs, as well as sponsorship for their children. Where necessary, they provide spiritual strength for patients in their terminal stages, allowing them to die with dignity.

Additionally Family Care Goa aims to improve conditions in local orphanages and homes for the elderly, providing needy institutions with TVs, VCD players and VCRs, along with sets of educational and character building video and VDC programs. Moreover they present character-building seminars at schools and institutions, and host regular Bible studies and meetings.
