ANNUAL REPORT 2003

SBSI becomes a Non Profit Organization


We celebrated our new status at Hotel Seiyo Ginza, with the assistance of the Hotel’s management and our friends.

Visiting Institutions in Cambodia

This year SBSI passed on the following supplies:

Cambodia, goods to hospitals, schools, orphanage
One 40 ft and one 20 ft container with (main items):
1 dental unit, 1 bed for emergency surgery, 1 hospital bed, 1 stretcher, 1 operation light, 1 Dynascope electro-cardiogram, 1 mobile x-ray machine (photo on the right), 1 c-arm x-ray machine, 1 Panorama x-ray machine, 1 ultrasound, 80 double sheets, 100 nurses uniforms,

1 sewing machine, 3 boxes stationary, about 200 t-shirts, 1 box of toys, 11.400 ballpoint pens, 3000 pencils, 3 Panorama, 623 kg paper, 142 school bags, 5 desks, 6 Olympia manual typewriters, 1 Yamaha Piano Electron, 746 books, 55 computers, 55 monitors, 6 laser printers.

Papua New Guinea:

Land cruiser for HOPE Worldwide Nine Mile clinic in Port Moresby, for transporting staff and supplies


Tanzania:

for schools, hospitals and social service centers in poor villages; via the ambassador:
20 units of computers and monitors 60 double sheets
58 pairs of sneakers and shoes 10 boxes of good quality clothing, bags, toys and crayons

Mongolia:

for schools, via the ambassador:
30 computers, one laser printer, I hub machine

Malawi:

for orphans and the poor, via the ambassador:
38 boxes of good quality clothes

Mission to India


Angela, SBSI member Joseph Jones’ second daughter, went for six weeks to assist charity projects, which her sister Mary visited during the previous year.

    A Summary of Last Year's Accomplishments:

  • Procured and Shipped to Cambodia: 3 tons of school supplies, 623 computers and related computer equipment, 8 ambulances (5 of these to help set-up a 911 emergency help system) 4 cars, 1-4WD van, 30 generators, 3 dental clinics, 144,000 pairs of surgical gloves, x-ray machines, wheel chairs, 10000 T-shirts, 8000 pairs of shoes, toys, children's videos and audio tapes, typewriters, office supplies, furniture, and solar panels. All of the above school related items were directed to the Rural School Project of the American Assistance for Cambodia & Japan Relief for Cambodia NGOs.
  • Twice each month serve food and distribute clothing and provide counseling for 1,000 homeless people in the Shinjuku area of Tokyo.(a total of 2,000 hot meals served every month.)
  • Hold a weekly Bible class given to 100 homeless every week in the Shinjuku park.
  • Regularly distribute food and other supplies to missionaries, local foster care institution, several old folks homes and a center for the handicapped.
  • Sent a total 40 tons of Humanitarian aid to North Korea, consisting of milk powder, protein, rice, baby food, and olive oil. (An ongoing project)
  • Sent a truck to Zaire.
  • Sent 4 tons of food and clothing to Russia, after the Sakhalin earthquake.
