Food Distribution Program

With an ever-widening gap between the rich and the poor in Mexico, many find it extremely difficult to make ends meet and provide enough food for their families. Sadly, the effects of malnutrition can often be seen in impoverished districts.

Thanks to the generous donations of local businesses, Proyecto Refugio A.C. runs a regular food distribution program, whereby struggling families, single mothers and elderly pensioners can receive healthy food packages to supplement their nutritional needs.

Over 200 families receive supplies on a monthly basis, including fresh produce, dry goods, and proteins. Often this amounts to over 2 tons of uncooked food distributed per month.
