During the height of the conflict in Mindanao many people died; 209 civilians, 542 MILF fighters, 189 soldiers and scores of wounded soldiers. The Marines, being the first to fight and the cutting edge of the armed forces, suffered a lot of casualties. An opportunity opened for us to encourage these wounded Marines and with our singing team and help from our sponsors, we were able to organise an event to convey our appreciation for their endangering and sacrificing of their lives in protecting people's lives in war torn Mindanao.
