Side By Side International, based in Japan, is an authorized non-profit organization recognized by the National Tax Agency, and was established with the vision of working together with NGOs and charities in Cambodia and other developing nations to further convergent goals.

Side By Side International, which was founded by Koji Sasaki, has broadened its endeavors and support base over the years to meet medical, educational, and other humanitarian needs for the needy of Cambodia, Southeast Asia and Africa. As such, the volunteer-driven organization procures and provides humanitarian aid in various forms to the disadvantaged in an ever-expanding network.

Family Care Foundation “Japan Relief Fund”

On March 11, the 9.0 magnitude earthquake and resultant tsunami in Japan devastated huge tracts of northeastern Honshu, the main island of Japan. SBSI is focusing its relief operations to help meet the needs of the hundreds of thousands of survivors now housed in evacuation centers.

Strengthening the Medical Infrastructure of Cambodia - Emergency Medical Response

For several years now, Side by Side International (SBSI) has been exporting humanitarian aid in the form of emergency vehicles, such as ambulances, to various countries in Asia and Africa, and in particular to Cambodia. SBSI focuses most of their work in Cambodia, doing much to strengthen the medical infrastructure of the country.

Strengthening the Medical Infrastructure of Cambodia - Sihanoukville Province Medical Clinic

In its efforts to strengthen the medical infrastructure in rural Cambodia, Side by Side International (SBSI) partnered with others to target the neediest areas of the country for maximum impact of these services.

Strengthening the Educational Infrastructure of Cambodia

Side By Side International supports key orphanages in Cambodia and in some cases undertakes direct sponsorship of paying teachers’ salaries to assist in the education of children living in extreme poverty. Photo highlights of some of these undertakings.

Other Humanitarian Aid

Side by Side International (SBSI) was established with the vision of helping to meet the needs of orphanages, hospitals and schools in Cambodia and other countries. From Japan SBSI procures and ships 40-foot containers of supplies to various countries on a regular basis. Additionally, in some cases, Side By Side undertakes direct sponsorship of individuals living in extreme poverty.
