Vision for Africa was operational in the Somerset West region from 2004-2010, and the Notmans themselves involved in humanitarian and community work for the underprivileged in the Western Cape for some time prior.

The program areas of Vision for Africa include:

  • Free eye-care screening clinics in primary schools
  • Renovation of daycare centers

Feeding Schemes

Working in partnership with local businesses, Vision for Africa provides and delivers food items and produce for township feeding programs, soup kitchens and day-care centres, catering for around 300 children on a daily basis.

Clown Therapy

Vision for Africa’s hospital programs includes clowns going ward to ward entertaining the kids with balloon magic, and bringing smiles and laughter into their lives, coupled with personally interacting with the kids on a one-on-one level.

Educational Programs

Vision for Africa organizes Teachers Training seminars and Workshops specializing in Early Childhood Education and Development. A wide range of educational materials are made available, including audio-video and readers, moral-based and Christian curriculum, children’s picture Bibles, etc.

Vision for Africa Eye Care

The aim of Vision for Africa is to provide, free-of-charge, much needed eye care for disadvantaged children in local area primary schools. Each week, screening clinics are held in schools where each student is screened for overall vision problems and eye diseases.
