The Photo That Went Around The World!
By Antonia Jenkins, Horizons of Hope--Beirut, Lebanon.

Clown Colo telling a storywith puppets to a young patient.

Over 50 times during this past year, two of our young volunteers have dressed up in clown garb and visited the children's ward of a nearby hospital. Their purpose: To cheer up these young cancer patients and bring some joy and hope into these kids' lives.

We were honored to be approached by the UN who has selected the adjacent photo, from amongst thousands, requesting permission to use it as one of the main photos for the TV promotion of the International Year of the Volunteer. This photo is being published worldwide!

For the full story on this and an in-depth look at what one project is doing to make a difference in this often strife-torn part of the Middle East, see Family Care - Lebanon.
