Animation Program For Autistic Children

Family Educational Services, Istanbul, Turkey

We were asked to help organize an end-of-the-school-year program for 500 children here in Istanbul. We did a 45-minute program featuring music, puppets, and animation that was well received by all the children, as well as the government and educational officials in attendance.

Utilizing a curriculum of publications and videos, coupled with puppet shows, drama and music, FES hosts morale-boosting programs in schools, hospitals, institutions for the handicapped, orphanages and senior citizens' homes.

The FES program for students promotes topics ranging from hygiene to ethics, utilizing the media of live music, puppet shows, pantomime, and songs in which the children participate. After their programs, FES staff meets with teachers to offer educational consultancy, advice and practical tips, as well as to distribute educational and character building publications.
