Utilizing volunteers to enhance our work
Helping Hands Volunteer Foundation -- Vladivostok, Russia

Misha is a 2nd-year medical student who we originally met 3 years ago when his rap group performed at our anti-drug function. At the time Misha had a drinking problem and was so drunk the day of the performance that he fell off the stage and broke his leg! We reached out to Misha and helped him get his life in order; he stopped drinking and is now one of our Volunteer Leaders, heading his own team and using his energies toward helping at a rehabilitation center in our city.

Misha is just one example of this project's success, vision and determination to utilize the help of outside volunteers. As they share on their web site, "we had come to the realization that we were not able to progress as much as we wanted to due to the lack of trained personnel who spoke the native language. This is when the idea of a VOLUNTEER CLUB was born!"

"The Volunteer Club has enabled our FCF Project to go beyond the confines of our original mission statement."
