The main aim of Stanza Bopape Community Development Center, with which we implement programs, is to empower underprivileged individuals and families allowing them to become productive members of the community.

In an effort to up the quality of life for the people in the township, Stanza Bopape created a business cooperative in which locals are trained and work at the following mini-industries located on the property: a brick manufacturing plant and urban farming,

teaching traditional beading and upscale beadwork and rugs,

and sewing school uniforms and other clothes and the production of shoes for students and others.

Business cooperatives also focus on recycling, as well as baking, catering and computer training. For working parents, day care facilities are provided, and a drop-in center for orphans. Pre-school aged children, who otherwise have an extremely poor diet which in turn leaves them vulnerable to AIDs and other sicknesses, now receive two hearty meals a day, thanks to the generosity of Family Care sponsors.

Personal attention for orphans, who receive a hot meal each day after school.

AIDS awareness and youth counselling is also a part of the program offered at Stanza Bopape Community Development Center.

Many of the recipients in turn help to organize and prepare food packages for other needy community members.

Family Care is presently funding the expansion of the facilities, and is in the process of constructing a hall which will serve as after-school classrooms, auditorium and gymnasium. Also planned is a new kitchen, sanitary facilities, counseling rooms, first aid room, and offices.
