A food and medicine distribution program for orphaned children was started in Kikimi in collaboration with the Congolese association SABEC.
As is customary in Congo, the orphaned children have been placed with relatives, such as a grandmother or aunt who will care for the child. Each child receives a weekly food package.
Thanks to local concerned companies and individuals who contribute to this cause, Espoir Congo provides clothing, shoes, toys and hygiene products for these children.
A nutritious breakfast is served at Espoir Congo’s school, helping to combat malnutrition and increase academic performance.
Hot meals are served for special events and celebrations.
Additionally, vitamins, nutrients and needed medicines are provided.
In 2010, Espoir Congo built a primary school on the property, along with a mini-clinic and dispensary, where the orphaned children receive free education and medical care.
At the onset of each new school year, the orphaned children receive new uniforms, backpacks and basic school supplies.
Whether it be food, education, medicines, or a big hug, Espoir Congo attempts to meet these children's needs and provide a healthier and brighter future.
