In January of 2011, Family Care Cambodia became of a member of the Child Welfare Group (CWG) which is a network of Cambodian NGOs and International Organizations (IOs) that provides holistic support to children in difficult circumstances so they can have hope and a better future.
Member organizations meet monthly to discuss issues related to child welfare and children’s rights in Cambodia, and to present valuable information to the public via a weekly radio broadcast. The united goal is to promote child rights awareness, and encourage parents or guardians to raise their children with love, dignity and sympathy.
Family Care Cambodia project manager Ann Soldner was elected chairman of the Child Welfare Group for the year 2013, and has been a regular guest speaker and the main script writer and coordinator for the weekly radio show.
The radio program airs in Phnom Penh and throughout 14 provinces in central Cambodia. CWG Member organizations share their expertise as guest speakers who are interviewed on parenting, child development and child safety themes. Each program is open for live audience response and Q&A time.
