We travel to previously unexplored territory, at least places our team has never been before, among the high mountain villages around Hsinchu County. We pass quiet river valleys, as we climb through misty clouds, and then climb higher still to villages we see off in the distance. Here we continued our distribution of humanitarian aid to the aboriginal tribes, passing out everything from baby cereal, diapers and clothes, to sponsored sets of educational videos. The local villages will use the latter in their village youngsters' education, organized by the local village church or school. It is our goal to provide sets of educational videos to as many of the Aborigine villages as possible, knowing that the contents will positively influence and help mould the young Aborigine children in solid family principles and concepts.
Earlier, we dropped off some baby cereal and diapers with the 90 year old French-Canadian Catholic priest in Nan Oa Township, for distribution amongst the villages that he has contact with. Next in Hualien County in Chin Mei Village we left clothes, cereal and diapers with the village church to distribute, and then drove to Chung Kwang village where we also left supplies with an Atayal tribal leader friend that we have there.
Another distribution is to the mountain villages around Taipei City. This area is very beautiful also with many mountain streams flowing through the rocky formations. The Atayal Aborigine villagers have carved a huge statue of a huntsman high in the rocks that the road to the mountain valley must run through. Here we enter two villages that we had not been before, meeting in one Pastor Lee and his family who was also the village chief and who was very happy to receive our supply of humanitarian aid.
On the road to the next village we noticed Catholic shrines. Investigating further in the village we come across a Catholic nun from Sardinia, Italy who had ministered in the village for 40 years. She had truly been changing her part of the world through setting up a center for the Aborigine children. She was indeed a bright light shining before men, glorifying her Father in Heaven.
