In a world where these children live in cramped homes without basic commodities and life is very difficult at home, the Rainbow Center provides a ray of sunshine and joy in these children’s lives. They are eager to learn in the bright and spacious classrooms, and engage in fun and educational activities, while building friendships and personal confidence.
FAVOR arranges occasional educational field trips for the children, including a natural history museum and a firefighter station, thus broadening their learning opportunities.
Other outings to recreational locations such as an amusement park, a meal at a restaurant, and a forest picnic create completely new and wholesome experiences for these children who for the most part have never ventured outside of their village.
Sunday School-style activities at the Center are open to all the kids in the village (not just those enrolled in the after-school program) and might include crafts, a puppet show, outdoor games, and enjoying the state-of-the-art playground.
At the end of the year a fun celebration is held at the Rainbow Center. The children perform for their parents, enjoy special treats, and each receives gifts provided by FAVOR and its sponsors.
